PEOPLE IN THE PIT
For a few years, I photographed Finnish people living and doing things in old gravel pits. Here is what I found. One edition was published by Helsingin Sanomat. Project is still ongoing, so you can give me a hint.
Enontekiö, 2020. Lasse Tapani built a shed in a gravel pit situated right next to his home.
Paimio, 2019. Festival at a quarry in Paimio.
Porvoo, 2019. A Camping site has grown into a hundred years old gravel pit in Sondby, Porvoo. Finnish actor and director Spede Pasasen was also an inventor, who develop a vessel called Super Surf. Family had some trouble assembling the thing.
Haukipudas, Oulu 2019. A man was training hunting with a bow and arrow. He threw balls onto a gravel pit slope and tried to hit moving targets.
Hyrylä, 2019. Frisbee golfers in a re-forested gravel pit area.
Lappeenranta/Imatra, 2019. Golf course and a motocross track on the other ends of the same gravel ridge formation.

Oulu, 2019. A man was coerced to shoot his brother at a gravel pit in Jääli, Oulu. The body was hidden in a ditch in the area and it was found in the spring.
Haukipudas, 2019. It is almost a tradition to burn old cars in gravel pits.
Palojoensuu, Enontekiö, 2020. Graveyard and a gravel pit.
Kiiminki, 2019. This gravel pit was named as the Safe Pit after thieves brought a safe to the pit. They did not manage to break into the safe and left it in the pit. It is now on the bottom of the pit, which has filled with water.
